Na'Jee Carter  | Learning Facilitator & Leadership Coach

Na'Jee Carter most recently serves as a Regional Superintendent of Instruction at Uncommon Schools North Star Academy elementary schools. A graduate of Hampton University, he is a forward-thinking advocate for educational equity and mental health awareness. He has spent the past 15+ years serving students and families serving students and families in the city of Newark, NJ, his hometown. His impact as an education leader is felt across Uncommon Schools and leading professional development sessions on the science of reading for teachers inside and outside the organization. In his first year as a principal at North Star Academy Alexander Street Elementary School, 100% of 4th-grade boys scored proficient on the ELA portion of the state test. That was the same year he wrote and introduced a Black Lives Matter unit into the curriculum. Na’Jee prides himself on coaching leaders who lead schools that prioritize critical thinking, academic excellence, love, wellness, and community.
